Accessibility in the Classroom

Help me give my students 2 classroom iPads for my students who have a hard time navigating a mouse/trackpad and a ball chair to provide sensory output.

My Students

"To the world, I may be just one person. But to one person, I may be the world." The students I so graciously get to serve, go about their lives living in broken flower pots. However, inside that broken flower pot, is the most strong and beautiful flower your eyes have beheld. And oh how that beauty radiates!

Aside from the predetermined outcomes for my students, I teach them to love who they are and to not see themselves as anything less.

Their disability DOES NOT define them, or their future.

My Project

My students have intellectual and physical disabilities, so finding classroom resources that meet their needs and allow them to access and be independent is vital for their success. We have students that are in constant motion at their desks and need a sensory output. We have gone through a couple of classroom chairs a month from students bouncing and rocking in their seats. A ball chair will withstand the bouncing and rocking, saving the amount of chairs being broken, while providing that sensory output. My students also struggle to log in and navigate computers. Whereas a touch screen is much more accessible for them. The iPads will allow them to access the curriculum, lessons, and practice life skills independently.
