My Students

I am so fortunate to be the school social worker here at CILA and work with such a diverse group of students and families. We are a Title I school with such an eclectic group of individuals who are learning a different language and about different cultures. Our students learn acceptance, compassion, and teamwork here at CILA and I am so proud to be part of their learning.

Teaching students how to deal with everyday issues that arise, and giving them the tools to succeed is our main goal here at CILA.

We live in a world that is multicultural and our students are prepared for the road ahead, when they are here.

My Project

One of the many reasons I choose to work in smaller schools is because you get to create relationships with each and every student. Through these relationships, I am able to really get a feel for the needs of each child and classroom. One of the things that I believe is so important is the ability to create fun and equal play.

Providing these stepping stones for our playground will enable our school to provide fun outdoor play for our students with disabilities.

Currently, our playground is filled with small pebbles that are great for most of our students but we do have a few who find it extremely difficult to even walk on them let alone run
