Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most things in the world are set up for typically functioning people... including things made for the classroom. This means that people with disabilities may have a harder time accessing, using, and participating in normal things.

These materials will help my students use computers, write, and participate in exciting events.

At my school, students are given Chromebooks, but the touch pads are difficult for my students to navigate. The computer mice will help them be able to use their Chromebooks. Some of my students also struggle with writing, and even tracing, words. I have made each student a stencil of their name, which helps them write independently. The letter and number stencils will help my student write more than just their names. Lastly, my students get overstimulated in exciting, high energy environments. The compression vest will help them get sensory input that will allow them to participate in fun school events (like assemblies and sporting events)!
