After high school, there aren't a ton of options for what students with disabilities will do with their lives. Creating and having to upkeep a classroom garden will help my students learn life skills that could result in more opportunities for them! Through this project they will learn hard skills specific to gardening that could help them get a job in a gardening one day. They will also have to learn soft skills like responsibility and following a schedule with directions that will benefit them vocationally and will help them live more independent lives in other aspects.
