This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 6th (transitioning from elementary school into middle school) and 7th grade students come from a diverse array of experience and culture. My mission is to create a safe and welcoming environment so that each can blossom and learn to their fullest potential. Students learn through socialization and access to multiple modes of learning. This project is filled with resources to help them succeed in the middle school ICT ELA classroom.
The headphones will help my students access the digital curriculum at any point of the lesson since language is learned through multiple modes.
It also ensures students who require additional practice or support in language learning to hear the word sounds they need to master in the new language and deepen their vocabulary acquisition.
The journals provide a space for my students to express their thoughts without judgments. My co-teacher and I have a total of approximately 90 students in all 3 of our ELA classes. We want to build on the assets our students have as multilinguals to confidence in expressing themselves through writing and speaking.
