I have the privilege of being a Speech Therapist in a South Bronx high school, which is part of District 75 in New York City’s Department of Education. We are the largest special needs school in NYC, with over 700 students. They range in age from 14 to 21 years old. My students face intellectual and physical disabilities that affect their ability to communicate and access the school’s curriculum. Some of my students verbally communicate, while others are not able to speak and use alternative methods of communication. Many of my students have physical disabilities that limit their ability to access educational and therapeutic materials.
Your donation will allow my students of varying needs to access instructional materials that will help them be successful.
