Help me give my students a clean place to sit on the carpet. Our school is twenty years old and the classroom carpet is gross. The bright class lights cause headaches and over stimulation. I appreciate your help!
My students attend a school that uses the Ron Clark Academy house system similar to that of Harry Potter. This motivates them to always do and be the best they can be as well as promote lifting each other up with friendly competition.
These students learn to speak to adults and each other like adults and grow into effective communicators.
Our students impress me with their high level of respectfulness and responsibility.
They may come from low socioeconomic families, but they prove they do not have to fall into stereotypes. These kids rise to the occasion every time I raise the bar.
My Project
A clean rug and fluorescent light filters would be much needed and appreciated items in my classroom. The light filters will help reduce eye strain from the very bright fluorescent lights. I have had students suffer from headaches daily from these lights. I also suffer from headaches from them. It is difficult to focus, learn, and even teach under these glaring lights. Our school is old with dirty carpet. In 2nd grade we spend a lot of time in the floor for number talks, read alouds, discussions, and much more. Children should have a clean place to sit at school that is warm and inviting and not stained, dirty, twenty years old, and gross. I appreciate your support so much and these items would help students for many years to come, not just this year. Thank you!
