My Students

As a kindergarten teacher at a Title I school located in Oahu, I feel that I have the best teaching position in my school. I work with students who are just beginning their learning journey. Each child comes to class with their own strengths and weaknesses. Many of these students entered school lacking the foundational skills that most same-aged peers possess.

I am lucky to work with curious, creative, and enthusiastic students who are eager to become strong readers and writers.

My students always put their best effort into everything they tackle. They are always willing to try, explore new strategies, and practice newly learned skills. They understand that mistakes make them stronger learners and they are always ready for the next challenge!

My Project

Each year, we celebrate our kindergarten year with a "moving up" ceremony to acknowledge our growth in learning. Unfortunately, with the new restrictions in place, our families and classmates may not be able to celebrate this accomplishment together.

To help show my students that they were a part of a learning community, where we all worked together and grew academically, I would like to create and provide them a classroom t-shirt to remember their kindergarten year.

With t-shirts and heat-transfer vinyl, I will be able to make shirts for each student in my classroom to take home at the end of the year to remember all the fun times they had this year!
