ABCs and Phonemic Awareness Make Reading Accessible to All
Help me give my students opportunities to grow their reading skills through phonemic awareness activities and fun manipulatives to help them learn important reading skills while having fun!
The phonics materials and resources I am requesting will allow all students opportunity to learn necessary and valuable reading skills. The skills taught and explored through these materials will give students structured and explicit instruction in Phonemic Awareness, one of the 5 pillars of Reading. The alphabet manipulatives will be used in various ways to help students explore letters, letter identification, and letter sounds.
The goals for my project are to build instructional sequences that enable students to develop their reading skills, aiming to grow strong readers.
These skills will not only support my students in their primary reading level, but continue to support them throughout their educational career.
My students are special because they come to me with increased risk of not developing strong reading skills. My job is to explicit teach and build a strong foundation in reading to make them successful students. The materials in this project aim to do just that.
