Help me give my students phonological awareness puzzles, sight word games, a remote control firetruck, and dice to help make literacy and math more fun than it already is!

My Students
Take a moment to think about your kindergarten experience. Did you just get a feeling of nostalgia, too? Kindergarten is an amazing and fun time that teaches you the foundations of reading, writing, and math. My students are getting that same experience, but we would love to have resources that will help us learn those core subjects.
The children I teach are energetic, wonderful, hardworking students.
Some of them come from situations that no one should ever experience. They impress me every day with their awesome attitudes and desire to learn. We are a full-day kindergarten class at a Title I school. Most of our students qualify for the free breakfast and lunch program. The student population is 33% Caucasian, 26% Hispanic, 12% Asian, 11% African American, and 28% other.
My Project
Kindergarten is meant to be a time where kids are allowed to explore, play, and be a child. I am offering that experience in my classroom by providing my students fun and engaging materials that will help them learn the foundations they need in order to be successful in first grade.
I want my students to be excited about learning!
The items I have included in this project will give my students an opportunity to learn through play.
The phonological puzzles will teach my students valuable reading foundations such as letter sounds and blending. We will be using the puzzles in literacy stations and small group. Our class also needs more fun and engaging sight word activities so we can be amazing readers! We are requesting giant dice because it’s exciting to use a big dice in our math stations when we’re learning to count and solve algebraic operations. Our motto is the more fun we have the better we learn!
In our project we included a remote control fire truck. The fire truck will be used to navigate through a course to find letters, sight words, and numbers during circle time. We also included airplanes to help us “fly over” our letters, sight words, and numbers during small group.
Combining play and academics is how my students learn best. Having these resources will give my students that opportunity. Thank you.
