This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a kindergarten classroom within an urban public school. Funds may be tight and resources are allocated to other important projects and materials. Our school is an innovative dual language Spanish program and many of my students come from underprivileged neighborhoods. They come to me with very few social experiences and crave the opportunities for exploration and creativity that my classroom provides.
Students come to school full of energy, ready to learn, and super eager for the different literacy and mathematics activities they will engage in during that day.
They are always curious about the world around them, ready to explore, play, and learn.
I teach at a dual language inner-city school in Boston where 80% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Though I've been working as a paraprofessional for many years at my school, this is my first year as a teacher. I am asking for help to make my classroom more accessible and intellectually stimulating for my students.
My Project
In kindergarten, everything we do is hands-on. Using pipe cleaners, pom poms, and dot markers in art studio helps promote their fine motor skills. In addition, having colorful construction paper, easel paper, and watercolor paper will ensure that they will always have the tools they need at hand to set their wild imaginations free!
Our future artists and storytellers will need these basic supplies to create their imaginative masterpieces!
Your kind donations to our classroom with ensure that these little learners will have the opportunity to excel in the academics. Not only that but you will also be helping to feed their creative sides as well.
