I teach at risk four and five-year-old children in a free pre-kindergarten classroom. These kiddos are creative, curious, and eager to learn. Many of our students are overcoming odds, as all of our students come from low-income households, and many come from traumatic backgrounds.
I strive to provide a loving, nurturing community in our classroom, for these at-risk children to feel welcomed and comfortable to explore and learn.
I am eager to create life-long learners, through thoughtful instruction, materials, and a comfortable classroom filled with love and understanding.
My Project
The kiddos in our class spend an amazing amount of time learning letter recognition and sounds, and numeral recognition. The materials I have requested will offer new, fun ways to learn these very important skills. We will use the materials for games they can play together with friends, and for teachers to use during lessons.
By donating, you will be helping these high-risk pre-kindergarteners learn their ABCs and 123s in a new, exciting way, increasing their love of school and education.
We believe that a large part of success depends upon the early years when children are learning to love school and learning. We strive to offer fun, exciting learning opportunities for the children, to encourage this love of learning.
