Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students today are students of a new generation. They learn through relationships with their peers and through technology. Students are filled with joy and are empowered to learn when they are able to have this type of interpersonal and technological learning experiences.

The school in which I work has a small population and the majority of students are from a low socioeconomic status which includes students who receive free/reduced lunch and breakfast.

Although my students do not have many resources at home, I have tried my best to create a classroom environment where they can immerse themselves in learning. My students are loving, caring, and, most importantly, excited and eager to learn new things.

My Project

My students need these requested two Osmo Gaming Systems for iPad to create engaging and empowering reading and math learning experiences. As a teacher, it is my job to help my students meet their maximum potential. I want to instill a love for learning in my students now at an early age so they continue to grow academically throughout their years in school. As a technology person myself, I try and create these types of experiences in my whole group teaching via our SMARTBoard and interactive videos. I would love to also include these same activities in my small group teaching via a device that was created by educational professionals and teachers themselves. I know that my students are learning and growing but I never want them to stop. Why not go beyond what is expected and be the best we can be?

The best part about being a teacher is when I see the smiles on my students' faces because they are proud of themselves and their progress.

The activity I am asking for will allow my students to have multiple opportunities to have technology incorporated in their education. I truly believe activities with the OSMO Gaming System will allow my students to grow in all content areas, both socially and academically this school year.
