I have a preschool classroom with 20 students that range from three to five years old. It is an exciting experience as some children are learning how to find their names on a chart or learning their letters while other students are starting to write and spell their names.
My preschoolers are curious, active, kind, and creative.
They enter our classroom excited to explore their environment and are curious about the materials we have to assist them in their development. We spend a lot of time learning through play, interacting with others and observing the older students of the school.
My Project
This project includes colorful stuffed Alphabet letters and a rainbow color fine motor activity. The letters would be amazing to have on our couches in the library center to encourage seeing the letters in the classroom.
Letter recognition is important because it enables beginning readers to figure out how printed text is associated with the spoken language.
We are working hard in the classroom on letter recognition and the sounds they make and the stuffed letters would be a great addition to our classroom.
The rainbow activity in this project will be great in our math area to not only strengthen fine motor skills but also help with color recognition, sorting and counting.
