My Students

Hola! I have taught bilingual (Spanish) kindergarten in the Chicago Public School system for the past 9 years. The students I teach come from predominantly low-income families and are all English Language Learners. Every year, I am excited to provide my young students with experiences and resources that they otherwise may not come across.

I am passionate about teaching early childhood and love exposing my young students to new experiences, getting them excited and invested in their own learning!

My Project

I teach bilingual kindergarten (Spanish-English). Since my students are Spanish dominant, I teach the core content in their native language. Teaching students to read in their native language is something I am passionate about. They will start to transition to English reading once they can read independently and fluently in Spanish.

There are often many resources we are missing.

Our reading curriculum emphasizes using ABC books to teach children initial sound/syllables but we don't have any in Spanish. I researched ABC books, and these ABC books I am asking for are perfect! Thank you for taking the time to consider donating to my "ABC en español!" project.
