AAC Loan Library

Help me give my students iPads and accessories to help build our district's assistive technology library to support our nonspeaking or minimally speaking students!

My Project

I work with several students who are nonspeaking or minimally speaking, many of whom are autistic. These students do not always have reliable access to alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) modalities, which frequently results in them demonstrating negative behaviors or big emotions as their best way to attempt to communicate.

Expanding my school's and district's assistive technology loan library with new iPads and cases would greatly increase my students' access to a dynamic and robust language system, which is not currently available to them.

I am also very excited about the Bluebee Pal stuffed animal, which connects to AAC iPads. The cuddly and cute puppy will "speak" the same words that students use on their iPads and will be a very fun and engaging way for them to see language modeled.
