My students need these materials such as a Thermal Laminator and Thermal Laminating Pouches so that I can create an interactive classroom that gives them access to their curriculum and caters to how they best learn.
Our unique classroom is comprised of students that are in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. We have an amazing classroom family of learners that have Cognitive Impairments. The students arrive each day with amazing attitudes and the excitement to learn new things. We incorporate various instructional strategies to ensure that the students are taught in the ways that they learn best, whether it be visual, kinesthetic, verbal, or auditory.
Their energy to learn and discover is what drives me to continuously provide them with a positive, caring classroom that shows them success and holds them to high expectations.
My Project
My classroom and curriculum is designed to be interactive! A key component of making it interactive and accessible to ALL students is to make it manipulative. The cardstock provides a blank canvas for me to create meaningful curriculum for my unique learners. The laminator and laminating pouches make the activities durable to be utilized from student to student through many years. The velcro dots provide a wonderful fine motor task and make the student's progress through the activity more permanent as the students don't always have the ability to stay organized while completing an activity.
The materials cater to how the students best learn, most often through visual and kinesthetic activities.
