Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything. They are entrusted to my care each day and my greatest desire is to make learning a fun and interactive experience for them. My students live in the downtown area of our community.

Based on the demographics in this area, my Title I school provides free breakfast for 100% of our students.

Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.

My Project

This year my students are becoming awesome writers. We are creating writing projects every week. My students need to have pencils and erasers to create. They also need their own personal space. Often times you think better in a quiet setting with just you but my students do not have that opportunity to have that personal space because we are in the classroom.

Having the privacy shields will help them with the personal space they would need to be awesome writers.

I want to encourage them to be critical thinkers. They will be able to pull from within themselves and use their thoughts to create something to be proud of.
