This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is filled with wonderful and unique students from all over the world. They bring with them a variety of languages and cultures that should be celebrated. This diverse classroom has its share of diverse needs as well. With over 21 languages spoken in our school it can seem like a daunting task to educate these amazing students.
My students come in each day ready to tackle challenges and perform to the best of their abilities, no matter what their needs may be.
My Project
These multicultural books and cushions for our classroom library will help bring our students together and develop a strong sense of community. When students see and hear stories about their own cultures it helps them to feel they are not so different from others in our classroom. I want to build a sense of community and have students in my classroom feel safe and included. In our world today there is so much going on dividing our cultures not uniting them. By learning about all the amazing cultures that are represented in our classroom it can break down those barriers and build strong relationships.
