My Students

How many students want to be in a classroom where they experience a hands-on approach for every concept they are being taught? I know I would! I want my students to have that experience each and every day they enter my classroom. My scientists, mathematicians, journalists, graphic designers, and engineers deserve that and so much more! One way to achieve this is to provide my students with materials that will allow them to be more creative in the classroom and learn in a more hands-on way.

I teach 22 of the brightest, most amazing third graders ever!

Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches. I have gifted students, students with IEP's, extremely active students, shy students, funny students, serious students, students with supportive parents, students with little parental support at home, students who are sweet, and students who call me "Mom"!

There are many differences among my students but one thing they have in common is their love of learning. They love learning and I love them! In my 16th year of teaching, I have found that students learn more when they are actually involved and actively engaged in their learning process.

My Project

Our current whiteboard is not a "true" magnetic whiteboard that most classrooms are fortunate enough to have nowadays. First of all, my students and I dread writing anything on our whiteboard because once you write on it, it's very difficult to remove what you've written. We have to scrub the whiteboard with magic pads and solution to even attempt to remove written things off of it. Secondly, the whiteboard we have now is not magnetic. This makes it very difficult to use our magnetic visual aids correctly.

As you can tell, we desperately need a magnetic whiteboard in our classroom that we can use the way a magnetic whiteboard is meant to be used.

Effective teaching comes with visual aids as supplements for learning. Learners in a classroom setting may find it hard to keep up with classroom discussions if teachers do not use techniques and strategies to catch our students’ attention. Most of the time they will get bored.

That is why tools that supplement learning exists, such as the magnetic dry erase whiteboard. This tool makes learning more interactive, interesting, and straightforward. With the markers and some visual aids that can be attached to the board, teaching and learning become easier and more convenient. With the use of dry-erase whiteboards, it is easier to catch the attention of students. It will also encourage learning among students, especially my 3rd grade students – they are always excited using dry erase whiteboards in classroom activities. Also, class assessments, such as solving math problems or explaining a point briefly can be written on dry erase whiteboards. I can see first hand who is struggling and who is excelling. Thus, follow-up teaching will happen more instantly.
