A Working Laminator For Our School!

My Students

My incredible students are smart, kind, fun, funny, and hard working first graders! Most live within a few blocks from our school, and they have a wide range of interests, needs, and backgrounds. Some of my students have two parents, and some have one. Some of my students have many books at their house, and some have very few. Many students live in housing projects near the school, and many others live in large houses.

My students are active, energetic, compassionate, and helpful.

They love to learn through games and movement. Most are eager to help each other learn, solve problems, and clean up. Our class feels like a family.

My Project

A working laminator would make a huge difference at our school. All 350 of our students would feel proud of their published writing with a laminated cover. Our academic games could be neat and well preserved for years. Students would solve math problems by writing on number grids and then erasing them for the next child to use. Our walls might be covered with reusable anchor charts, making our school more welcoming and giving our fabulous students learning strategies.

Our school currently has two broken laminators.

In the seven years that I have worked here, they have been frequently broken and never replaced. It is time to give our school a functional machine to inspire our learners and help our teachers and families.
