Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am not asking for a real window, we got those in our classroom. I am asking for a novel to read next year. I teach Spanish Language Arts to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Every year is harder to make kids enjoy books. It's hard to compete with smartphones, computers and all the social media videos or games. That is why finding a book that they can really enjoy is so important.

Teenagers want to read about the real world and this book is truly a window to it.

It's about survival, family, and not giving up. This book doesn’t force its point of view on the reader. The main character describes her life, and lets us make up our own opinion. This book will lead to question about their own little worlds, the things they take for granted, like education, and how they can made the world a better place.

Books like this one can help me to create the love for reading that will last their whole lives. Please help me open this window.
