A Whole New World For Us

Help me give my students this assortment of wooden puzzles, touch and feel books, (which one in particular loves) sorting activities, and a reading comprehension book for our reader.

My Students

Our students are a group of physically, mentally, and emotionally challenged young adults who see the world in a wonderful array of different colors. They like animated cartoons, talking books, art, and puzzles. All of them are nonverbal, but they love music and Disney videos.

We are in challenging times right now, and schools across the state have gone to remote learning.

My students don't have Internet access and devices to use at home, and I would like for them to continue to engage in learning as much as possible.

Although I have sent them work packets, they are in need of some hands-on manipulative games and puzzles.

My Project

All but one of our students are nonverbal. I can't imagine what they must be feeling right now. We've been out of school for a few weeks now, and they rely on schedules, so this must be tough on them, and they can't tell us how they feel.

The students need activities and manipulatives during this time of remote learning.

They enjoy the challenge of assembling puzzles, sorting items, and looking at books with their caregivers.

Thank you for any consideration. I look forward to seeing them once again in the near future, but in the meantime, I want them to be as busy and as engaged as possible.
