A Whole New Galaxy of Student Engagement

My students need a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet and keyboard to increase student engagement through increased teaching mobility.

My Students

Have you ever noticed students doing things as soon as the teacher turns to write on the board that they would not even think of if the teacher was right next to them? What if the teacher could write on the board from the seat?

My students are a great group of kids from diverse backgrounds.

They may be labeled as high-poverty, free or reduced lunch, or ESOL, but they are so much more than their labels. I see so much potential on their horizons as they seek to reach dreams that many believe are impossible. I teach future fathers, mothers, and teachers.

My Project

The Samsung tablet will help by allowing me to integrate current technology with the Promethean Board. This gives me the freedom to walk around the room and work with students one-on-one and still demonstrate things on the board. I will be able to have better interaction with each student avoiding potential distractions when my back is turned to write on the board. The students can also interact with the Promethean Board by using the tablet. For example students could teach a lesson by using the tablet or use it to interact with the ActivInspire program. It is a great tool to enhance the learning experience!

I have many students who desire to learn and grow in theirs math skills and potential.

They struggle with the disconnect and distractions that come with a teacher's back turned writing on the board. What if every seat became the front row and the ability to interact with the board was brought to their seat?
