My Students

My students from our Arts Magnet school are excited to be learning daily through movement. We are in our first year as an A plus Arts Magnet and our school is so excited about the experience and benefits it offers our population of students. My goal is to expose the students to the Arts, to engage them further in experiential learning. We are located in a low income community, therefore my students are not always offered opportunities to experience the Arts outside of school.

My students love to move, and deserve nothing but the best!

At school, the children are experiencing many different art forms daily in their classrooms and encore blocks.

My Project

My students currently cannot use the whiteboard. It is very difficult to erase, therefore use is limited. I currently cannot erase the board with a regular eraser. I have to use graffiti remover to get any marks off the board before continuing class. We use the whiteboard in class to project images of dance and professional dance works. I also teach them how to notate dance steps and plan out choreography for group projects by writing down their movement sequences and formations.

I will be able to effectively teach my dance class if I am able to write out instructions and examples on the new white board we are requesting.
