Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are lifelong learners. They are curious, creative, and positive. My students range from multi-language learners to special-education learners, but at the end of the day, they are wonderful students who are eager to learn. Our school is in East Harlem, which is considered a high poverty inner-city urban area. Most of my students' parents immigrated to the United States to provide them with a great learning experience.
In our classroom, we build a community around our differences and shared experiences.
We learn and teach each other every day. The students in my class strive for excellence. They all inherently care about one another and continually make an effort to become incredible humans of society.
My Project
A welcoming classroom is a HAPPY classroom. Help me create a HAPPY classroom for my students. Students need a welcoming, safe, and organized classroom to thrive and be their best possible self. From the bulletin board paper, I chose to the world map borders students will feel represented in their classroom.
Creating a classroom that feels like home is my main priority!
My project consists of a place value pocket cart, lap desks, and pocket sleeves that will make learning welcoming, engaging, and fun for ALL students. With these materials, my students will feel at home and ready to learn every day!
