A Warm Reward for my Winter Reader Leaders

Help me give my students a warm reward for reaching their winter reading goals.

My Project

This project aims to motivate and reward my third-grade students who achieve their reading goals. A hot cocoa bar will be a warm incentive to encourage reading, foster a love of literature, and promote academic achievement.

Hot cocoa supplies such as cocoa mix, stirrers, cups, and water will provide us with all that we need to make this cozy incentive corner happen.

Locating this hot cocoa bar in the classroom as a tangible reward for their hard work and dedication will serve as a visual "eyes on the prize" to meet and exceed goals.

Project Goals:

Increase Reading Comprehension: To improve students' reading comprehension skills by encouraging them to read a variety of books.

Foster a Love of Reading: To cultivate a lifelong love of reading by creating a positive association with books and learning.

Reward Academic Achievement: To recognize and reward students' efforts and accomplishments in reading.

Reading Goal Setting: Each student will set individual Accelerated Reader goals for the second semester.

Reading Log Tracking: Students will maintain reading logs to track their progress toward their goals.

Hot Cocoa Bar: Once students achieve their reading goals, they will be rewarded with a golden ticket to the hot cocoa bar, where they can enjoy a variety of toppings and flavors.

By providing a fun and rewarding experience, this project will motivate our third-grade students to become enthusiastic readers who are well-prepared for future academic success.
