Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class consists of seventeen first graders. They love math and learning through games. They are very inquisitive and want to learn as much as they can about the world around them. They love to learn and they love to learn about the world around them.

My students never cease to amaze me with their fearless attitude when it comes to learning new things.

Our school is located in a low socio-economic area. Although our school district does everything it can to provide as many resources as possible for our students, often the resources I would like to provide for my students are simply unavailable.

My Project

These individual VersaTile activity packs will be used for individual use during reading and math rotations/centers. This rotation/center will allow for five students to practice math or reading skills they need to improve or review while the teacher works with a small group. They will also provide for continued practice early finishers.

They can practice skills and then self-check to see if they need to attempt another try or get correct answers.

This will build their reading and math along with building confidence, independence, and resilience when taking control of their education.
