A Variety to Learn

Help me give my students some math tools to work with and whiteboards to do their work. Also, give them some books to help them understand the feelings they may be having.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I teach third grade in an urban area. The district doesn’t have the resources to give the students these supplies. I have 20 students in my classroom. The base ten blocks, book bins, markers, and whiteboards will help them be successful in math. They will be able to do their work and quickly show it for fast assessment. The books will help lead to discussion about students' feelings and help them to see they are not alone. Read aloud engages all students. Even if they do not participate in class discussions, they will benefit from hearing it.
