A Variety of Teaching Tools Makes Learning to Read Fun!
My students need a magnetic easel, a magnetic writing page, site word magnets and letter magnets to increase the variety of manipulatives they use during their language arts block.
I am a brand new teacher at a diverse school in a beautiful area of Minnesota. Our students come from a variety of homes. From parents that are successful professionals, to being raised by grandparents in Native American villages. 80% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch and some are bussed over 40 miles to get to school.
Although our students face great challenges, they have spirits that are eager to learn and are full of life!
They are amazingly talented children who thrive in the rich environment of our school. Our staff challenges them to rise above their adversity and become leaders and achievers.
My Project
Worksheets, worksheets, worksheets! Teachers spend too much time at the copy machine. I like to think outside the box and when it comes to teaching kids to read, it's important to use a variety of tools to get the job done.
These fun magnetic letters, magnetic sight words, magnetic easel and magnetic sheet will be used to enhance our literacy centers and sentence building stations.
Not every student learns the same, that is why it important to provide a variety of learning materials to teach the same content throughout the week. Variety keeps kids interested and curious about what each day will bring when they arrive at their classroom!
