My Project
I’m a speech teacher in a pre-K - 8 equity focused school. l provide speech and language services to children with various developmental disorders. My students are special, unique, and highly motivated. They are visual learners and thrive in an environment that provides opportunities for multi-sensory learning. Having a color printer to create fun and engaging therapy materials has been a game changer, but we are running low on ink.
Learning is always more fun in color.
We use visual aids, including communication boards, to model and expand on language, build vocabulary, promote social emotional learning, have access to life skills lessons, and allow my minimally verbal students alternate ways to express their needs and wants. My older students benefit from colorful graphic organizers, anchor charts, strategies posters, and visual schedules. Please help us get more ink to create materials that are more realistic, engaging, and fun. Thank you for supporting my classroom.
