My Project
I provide speech and language services to children with various developmental disorders. My students are special, unique, and highly motivated. They are visual learners and thrive in an environment that provides opportunities for multi-sensory learning. Having a color printer to create interactive visual aids will help my students explore and process the world around them.
Many of my students require more than verbal instruction to understand directions and academic concepts.
My students have been delayed in their skill development due to the COVID 19 Pandemic. It’s important to support their social emotional and academic instruction and facilitate language learning through different modalities. We use visual aids, including communication boards to model and expand on their language, build vocabulary, and allow my minimally verbal students alternate ways to express their needs and wants.
My older students will benefit from colorful graphic organizers, anchor charts, strategies posters, and visual schedules. Having access to a color printer will allow me to create materials that are more realistic, engaging, and fun.
