My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school. More than 1/2 of my children come from low-income families. They are eager to get their hands on new, up-to-date books, but due to family incomes and school budgets, they don't have the means at home, and our school can't meet our high demands. They love to read, and the more they read the more successful they will become. I want to provide current books that children will WANT to read. I took a survey of my class and the A to Z Mysteries was voted the most popular. I only have a few of these titles and would love to give my students what they desire. Please help these children get the books they are yearning for!
My Project
Reading is the key to success in ALL subject areas. I want children to love to read, so they will read more. There are so many new books and so many different genres, that it is hard to fill a classroom library. I took a vote to find the most loved series, and they voted on the A to Z Mysteries. I would love to fulfill this wish of having a complete set in my room. Children should be able to read the new and current novels they desire. We need to build a LOVE for reading, for children to succeed. I want to keep them happy and reading. This will ensure a promising future.
