My Students

The students here are awesome! This is a neighborhood K-6 elementary school with a diverse population of approximately 275 students. Our school provides free breakfast and lunch.

The staff at our school provide an atmosphere where every child can feel valued and successful.

Our mission statement is "A diverse community committed to the success of all learners as they become knowledgeable, responsible and caring citizens."

The surrounding community is dedicated to ensuring that all students learn in a safe and respectful environment.

My Project

As a health teacher, I serve all the children in the school. I like to start my lessons with an anticipatory setting and a chance to build vocabulary. This works best when they sit close to the teacher. Having a soft, designated space to call their own will help the students to focus on the lesson.

Allowing each student their own space gives them the every opportunity to listen, grow and learn.

This carpet will be a classroom management tool that will allow them to do just that! The primary age school students will benefit the most from this carpet.
