A-Tisket, A-Tasket, Help Kindergarten Students Build Baskets!

Help me give my students three Fairy Tale STEM kits to explore challenges with one of their favorite fairy tales and learn to work together to solve problems.

My Project

Kindergarten students love fairy tales. We read many of these classic stories throughout the school year. They love hearing them. They check out books with their favorite characters from our library. They even act out the stories during recess. We have a science lab in our school with wonderful tables for small groups, but we are short on supplies for our youngest students.

With these engaging STEM kits, my students will be able to work together to help Little Red Riding Hood build a basket strong enough to carry food through the woods to Grandmother's house.

The students will be able to brainstorm ideas and solutions together, use their fine motor skills to build baskets using hands on materials, experiment and test their basket to see if it can hold food, and then either celebrate their success or rebuild for a different result.

Kindergarten students love to learn. They also love to play with their friends. This STEM project will allow them to do both.
