Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

3 years ago a group of teachers started to make over a passive courtyard in our building. This courtyard has become an oaisis for students and teachers to use.

We transformed a simple garden into a sensory experience for the students.

We have plants like lambs ear, basil, sage, chamomile, and parsley to smell, taste and feel. We also have a monarch waystation filled with native plants, and a students help plant an edible garden each spring.

There are a lot of tools and materials required for maintaining a garden and we currently do not have proper storage for those items. We are asking for a tool shed, with an organizer, and a new hose to help maintain the garden and keep things tidy and easy to access.
