A Thousand Words and So Much More!

Help me give my students photo printer paper to capture beautiful moments in pre-K so they can share these memories with their families.

My Project

The idiom goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words." If the saying is true, in our small pre-K classroom, millions of words are conveyed in the ideas of our children and captured by the camera throughout the year. The pictures are developed into photos and posted on the bulletin board for our parents to see what their child has been up to on a daily basis. Our classroom needs more photo paper and a mini photo printer to help capture and share those moments for parents who may not always be there.

The task of educating a child is a partnership between the teacher and the parents.

It is crucial for parents to be informed of what is going on in the classroom. As the year progresses day by day, photos are constantly being printed and we begin to see just how much our students are growing before our very eyes. With a wide format printer, beautiful candid shots will be displayed and help beautify our school with photos of the students who fill the hallways.

That is the power of a photo. It captures a moment in time that we will never be able to visit again. However, it elicits emotions and memories we hold dear in our hearts. At the end of the school year, these pictures that are piling up are separated by child and given to their parents as a gift so they may take them home the thick stack of photos and share with their children the amazing year filled with so much passion, enthusiasm, and excitement. They've learned to love learning and learned to love the beautiful world represented in a small pre-K classroom in New York.
