This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Computers are the future! Integrating technology in the classroom is an integral part of learning. It is essential for our students to have learning opportunities involving technology, and have access to the variety of electronic materials that come with the different programs that we use.

My classroom is composed of gifted and advanced students.

They are an amazing group of children, with so much desire to learn. They have intrinsic motivation which is necessary for learning, but many lack the resources at home to expand their knowledge. Many of them come from low socioeconomic families, dealing with financial hardships Our school is a Title 1 school with limited resources. We have two laptops for over 50 teachers to use, making access to them almost next to impossible. We also don't have DVD players in the classrooms, so we can't use any of the electronic materials that come with our academic programs.

My Project

I would love to expose my students to the limitless materials that are available on the Internet for the different subject areas. It would be great to demonstrate how to do research, and navigate for information necessary to expand student learning. Most of my students don't have computers at home, and therefore have limited exposure to computers. With the times changing and everything becoming electronic, it is vital for all students to have that exposure, and learning opportunities that are available online.

It will be wonderful to finally be able to incorporate all the electronic materials that are available to me, as well as differentiate instruction for my students.

I will have more opportunities to challenge them, and expand their knowledge by the help of technology.
