Mrs. Okon from Providence RI is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need one computer table to safely support a computer, keyboard, screen, and printer.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Safety for children always comes first. Right now, my classroom only has a couple of desks to support a computer, screen, keyboard and printer. These materials fit very awkwardly on the desks and overcrowd an area with limited space. If the desks are moved, a computer or other equipment could fall.
My students are beautiful second graders who come from multicultural backgrounds.
They are curious and love to learn with the support of technology. All of the students in my classroom meet poverty guidelines. Our school is over eighty years old. It is the largest elementary school in the smallest state, with close to one thousand students. Most of the furniture we have is outdated and is in need of repair.
This computer table will be able to support a computer, screen, printer, and keyboard. My students will no longer have to hold the keyboard in their hands to type. This table will allow more space in my classroom. With this additional space, I can build more learning centers for my students. I won't have to worry about them tugging on the wires since all the equipment will be on the table itself. The table will support a stable computer center.
This computer table will provide a safe and supportive learning environment for my students.
I will be able to have more space to set up additional learning centers within my classroom. A teacher is always thinking about new ways to improve the classroom environment for her students. This table will do just that!!!
