My Students

My students are an enthusiastic group of sixth graders at an inner-city school where the population is diverse, both academically and socioeconomically. The majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch, and many are English Language Learners.

The students in my classroom are full of energy and a love for learning, but often don't have the tools to help them do so.

They come to school each day with a smile on and ready to learn! They embrace each learning opportunity and enjoy working hands-on with their peers.

My Project

This table will give my students a place to sit and work during daily lessons. They will have a small group spot to sit and work with their teacher and the dry-erase function of the table will allow students to work out their thinking right in front of them.

They are eager to learn, but we need a space that can be used for small group and individualized instruction.

Having this table will make a difference for all students. It will give us a place to sit and work on individual reading and writing skills. It will allow my students to have a guided reading and writing space and another flexible seating option.
