A Sweet Look at Utah History

My Students

The world is a big place, filled with wonder and excitement. Yet, I teach at a school where many students have never left our wonderful state. Travel, success, and exploration are foreign words to them.

Around fifty percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.

They come from diverse backgrounds and many are second generation citizens to this nation. The classroom becomes their doorway to the future and their doorway to adventure. Help me make it the best adventure ever.

My Project

Nothing is more powerful than reading a book that has a direct impact on your personal history. Teaching State History is often met with mixed emotions. I look forward to putting a book into the hands of each student that brings to life the fun in history.

The Candy Bomber is a fun historical story, but also opens the students' eyes on how to find kindness when the world seems to be falling apart.

This historical story of the Candy Bomber helps students to see that there is more than one way to change the world.
