Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income area/high-poverty area, my students are faced with challenges, both inside the classroom and at home. All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch and sometimes a snack.

I currently have 9 English Language Learners and 2 Special Education students.

Many of my students speak two languages at home. For many of them, this is their first formal experience in a classroom and do not know what a school about. They come into my classroom on all different levels and abilities.

My Project

This school year is going to be different than any other school year. Students will be required to have all their own supplies and will be unable to share them with each other. The supplies are needed for a successful year include pencil boxes to hold all their materials. They will need all their own crayons, pencils, scissors and notebooks.

This project will allow my students to have all the essential supplies needed to have a successful year, no matter what obstacle is in the way.
