This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Urban middle school students are absolutely unique. I have seen a lot of growth in my children in these first months of school. However, I am aware that I need to change my OWN practices in order to help them overcome the challenges of learning a new language. Especially, after the ups and downs of COVID years.

Be GLAD training will provide me with strategies that will help my students not only be engaged in class but to become confident self-learners in the acquisition of Spanish as a second language.

GLAD stands for Guided Language Acquisition Design. This professional development is 6 weeks long and, although is 100% online, it includes live classroom demonstrations of GLAD strategies, with coaching!
