Help me give my students educational materials in their native language so they can have a stronger foundation in their first language to support the learning of the second language.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My kindergarten bilingual students, 4 and 5 years old, are Spanish speakers coming from low-income families in a high need area in the Bronx, New York. All my students are English language learners or children with special needs who come everyday into my classroom full of energy and eager to learn. They love hands-on activities and technology games during math, science/reading. They also like engaging in projects that are challenging and allow them to think outside the box to find solutions.
As children of the 21st century, they need to be prepared to use a variety of tools to engage in their world as well as mastering the new New York State Standards for their grade.
Unfortunately, my classroom is limited in some of the resources needed to provide each student access to important information; especially in bilingual resources, and in technology devices.
I look forward to creating projects in all subject areas but specially in reading and writing to help my students master the first language faster to ease the learning of the second language. Your contribution in funding this project will make a big difference in the acquisition of both languages.
My Project
My wonderful kindergartens come from Hispanic families; therefore their first language is Spanish! Many of them struggles a lot as they are not able to relate what they know in Spanish to what it is instructed or spoken in English in our Transitional Bilingual Class. During their Native Language Arts period, their faces are smiling and the learning comes naturally. Our Spanish library is not supporting the learning in their first language due to the small amount of reading books.
It is imperative to understand that the most significant variable in how long it takes to learn English is the amount of formal schooling students have received in their first language.
Having a variety of leveled readers and hands-on activities in their first language is essential for my 4 and 5 years old pupils to be able to acquire faster their first language and their second language.
This will also help their parents to take a special moment every day to read and share stories with their children as many of them does not speak English.
Help me provide quality reading for my kindergartens to enjoy every night with their parents and promote the enhancement of their reading and writing skills.
