My Students
My students are the most amazing kiddos! They are bright, energetic, and curious. As a teacher in the virtual sector, I work with various exceptional students, from students who are gifted, to students who have mental, physical disabilities, or both. However, despite the many challenges they face, when we meet together, they show up with smiles on their faces and are ready to learn.
The educators and support staff are exceptional in their dedication and determination to make a difference in students' lives.
Our goal is to give each student the very best education and the best support possible at all times. We will not fail in our mission and our students share our determination to succeed!
My Project
As many educators work from home and use the same networks and programs, connection errors occur frequently. I hear my students' frustrations when they tell me I am frozen on their screens when they can't see/hear me when they don't know what I'm presenting on-screen. When I get kicked out of our meeting sessions unexpectedly, we lose precious class time as I attempt to reconnect to the network. Some of my students are English Language Learners (ELL), so every minute of lost instruction time is detrimental. They require hands-on learning that I can offer when I present and break down instructions for them. Social & Emotional Learning is very critical today with all of the changes families have made due to the pandemic. Many families have decided to keep their child(ren) to work virtually.
