My students come from a very small, tight-knit community. Their parents are hard-working, middle class people who work to provide for their family. My students range from ages six to nine, grades kindergarten through second. I teach them to not be afraid to fail, but to learn from any mistakes they may make.
My students learn in a different way and it is my honor to provide them with the education they need to thrive in their strengths.
They are at all different learning levels trying to understand and learn what their classmates who don't, come to my room for help understand. They work hard and are diligent in proving that they are able to learn and progress in their own way.
My students need a chance to be taught the way they need to learn to succeed and be self sufficient, productive citizens when they grow up.
My Project
My kiddos need to be taught Phonemic Awareness intentionally. They need a good foundation to be able to read well. Phonemic awareness is vitally important. Students need to be able to hear sounds in words, be able to put sounds together correctly to make words, and break words apart to do well in reading.
A comprehensive Phonemic Awareness program will allow me to give the much needed tools to help kids with their foundations in reading.
As they progress in his program, their progress in reading will be evident. The reading progress they experience will help boost their confidence tremendously.
Your generous gift to purchase this program will help many students for years to come. As students come to me in the resource room, many of them struggle with their reading. I am able to trace it all back to poor phonemic awareness skills. I would greatly appreciate the ability to have this program at my fingertips to help these children in their reading success.
