My Project
My students attend, a public school on the Leeward Coast of Oahu. Over ninety-five percent of our school's students are eligible for free or reduced lunches, and about half are of Hawaiian ancestry. These sweet students, my first graders, are learning functional life skills that include self-care and taking care of one's belongings.
Please help me purchase a storage rack to safely store my students' things.
First graders bring a backpack and jacket to school daily, and we need a safe and study rack to hang things on. We use a converted rolling bulletin board with hooks as a backpack storage rack, but it is wobbly and may tip over one day. This storage rack will last many years and help us safely keep backpacks off the floor and in one location. This sturdy rack can hold twenty-eight backpacks and helps organize our items.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
