We are a small, rural school with a big heart for our kids. Many of our students are poor, qualifying for free or reduced price lunch. Technology can be a great equalizer for disadvantaged kids, helping them learn skills that will help them overcome their socioeconomic status.
Because of the rural area in which we live, there are students who do not have internet or cell phone signals where they live.
School is a place where they can have the materials they need to bridge the technology and poverty divide.
The 3 D printer and printer filament will help our students create 3D models of some of the available store fronts in our town so that we can help grow interest in our struggling main street. We will use the video recorder to capture the small town charm of our area in promotional videos, while teaching our students how to produce quality video.
By donating to our project, you will not only increase student attention and focus academically, you will help them to see that learning can be life long - beginning as students and continuing as members of a community.
Our town motto is the "little town that can" - we can make a difference a little at a time.
