Mrs. Walton from Houston TX is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need tablets and materials such as a drafting table, hot glue guns, stop watches, geometry resources, and math-related books for their age level to enhance their learning in a STEM-centered classroom.

Welcome to Stallion Country where we strive for the best students, by being the best teachers, with the best leadership. My students are very eager to learn and they enjoy being challenged. Although they come from a very diverse background, the common underlying factor is the lack of ability for real-world application. It is not enough to tell them about events and cultures going on around the world. They deserve the opportunity to see for themselves, to be able to research, connect to the curriculum they are learning and apply it to topics that are directly affecting their world.
My students are currently attending school in an environment that is constantly changing due to the recent Hurricane Harvey events. They are both resilient and strong students, in that they come to school ready and eager to learn about STEM and how it applies to their future. It is important for students to know that just because unfavorable events occur, the learning does not stop.
I believe that these materials will continue to facilitate and support my teaching of the STEM principles of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication within my classrom.
We have pressed through all sorts of obstacles this school year. I know that with these resources such as: the drafting table where students can brainstorm their ideas, the tablets where they can create their own videos and take pictures of things that support their project, the consumable materials which will decrease their focus on what they do not have, but increase their focus on the learning, they will end the school year successful.
