Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kids have exhibited courage, humility, respect and resilience in this time of uncertainty. They have been through so much but still they get up every morning and are very optimistic about what the future holds for them. They have been so amazing and when I think of my students, they are not just kids I teach. They are MY kids and think about them all the time.

I work at a Title I school where most of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Providing my students with this opportunity will increase their cognitive understanding.

My Project

Easel pads will be used in the classroom for group projects where students will be able to collaborate and create projects for display outside the classroom. The easel pads will also allow the use of the colorful Post-it notes for the four corners activity.

The Sharpie markers will provide the ability to create colorful anchor charts to prepare for the upcoming STAAR test.

I will be able to keep the finished anchor charts and laminate them for future use. The chalk contact paper and chalk markers will provide an area for weekly word walls that will be easily changed with new lessons. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will give me the opportunity to buy STAAR activities and strategies for my students. The folders will be used to keep STAAR related strategies and practice activities that will be taken home to keep communication open with parents.
